NOMINACIONES A LOS BAFTA BRITÁNICOS (British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards)

En el día de hoy se han dado a conocer las nominaciones a los BAFTA británicos. La BAFTA (siglas en inglés de British Academy of Film and Television Arts) fue fundada en 1947 con el nombre de Academia Británica de Cinematografía. En 1958, dicha Academia se unió al Sindicato de Productores y Directores, formando así la Sociedad de Cinematografía y Televisión y convirtiéndose en 1976 en la actual Academia Británica de las Artes Cinematográficas y de la Televisión. Está compuesta, en su conjunto, por aproximadamente 6.500 miembros cuyo objetivo es "apoyar, motivar e inspirar a aquellos que trabajan en el cine, la televisión o el mundo de los videojuegos, identificando y premiando su excelencia y educando a quienes hacen uso de cualquiera de estas formas de arte visual en movimiento". El galardón consiste en una escultura diseñada por el artista Mitzi Cunliffe que representa una máscara, símbolo tradicional del teatro y la tragicomedia

"The Artist" prosigue con paso firme su camino con destino a los Oscar. Después de triunfar en los Globos de Oro, se dispone a repetir en estos BAFTA tras saberse que lídera la lista de nominaciones con la nada desdeñable cifra de  doce de ellas. Le siguen "El Topo" con once y "Hugo" con nueve, pese a no optar al premio a la Mejor Película.  Por lo que se refiere a "La piel que habito", ha resultado nuevamente nominada en la categoría de Mejor Film de habla no inglesa. A continuación, figura la lista de nominados a unos premios cuya gala final tendrá lugar el próximo 12 de febrero.
